Welcome to Luminosity & Sunshine

Designer, maker, upcycler… fabric, trims and paper hoarder… user of discarded things which I turn into quirky original pieces..

Phew it’s been a really full and exciting few months in and out of the studio, being involved in lots of new projects and collaborating with the lovely Alice Bradshaw

I pushed myself way out of my comfort zone and volunteered to be involved in 100 voices for 100 years project by Miranda Roszkowski. Click here to read or listen to me talking openly and honestly about my own personal journey. I’m one of 100 womens voices. All the stories are as unique and wonderful as the women telling them

I submitted the same piece of writing to the Dwell Time project which is doing a fabulous job highlighting mental wellbeing. There is an open call for contributions to the project, for more information and to be involved click onto the Dwell Time website here

Running my first Finding Your Creativity workshops, inspired by my lovely friend and studio buddy Zoe Mansbridge. Workshops were held at Croft Myl & CraftLocker in Elland and I’ve been getting great feedback & reviews. I’m currently running one to one or small group (4 people) workshops at a time and date to suit you. Get in touch with me to arrange yours today

Being interviewed & recorded by Debbie Sharp (with Alice Bradshaw) at a Mothers Who Make Halifax meeting for her project SpeakHer as part of the Hebden Bridge Arts Festival. Attending the launch of the project and hearing our voices being transmitted on a symbolic loud speaker sculpture Hebden Bridge Town Hall

Collaborating with Alice Bradshaw to create a large-scale Food Waste World Map for the Incredible Fabulous Feast at The Piece Hall to highlight the problem of food waste around the world. Wonderful to play a small part in this fabulous event, where chefs cooked for free with intercepted food from The Real Junk Food Project and thousands of people were fed for free! So much KINDNESS from so many people in one day

Creating and gifting mini versions of my Share The Love Bundles for the WomanKind retreat to nurture, hold space and support women in all stages of life

Alice Bradshaw and I gently opened the first Girlcott show created and directed by Kate Radford as part of the Hebden Bridge Arts Festival. It was fun to be on stage performing a duet of Alice’s “Blah Blah Blah”. We got lots of positive feedback… “genius” “brilliant” “hilarious”

I also got the chance to sell some of my cards and Share The Love Bundles plus display a series of my textile art work which I’ve been working on for the last few years. Great to get some positive feedback about my work and to tentatively bring it out of the studio for new eyes to see! It would be great to exhibit it somewhere in the future (just putting it out there universe!) #Manifesting #JustSaying

The GIRLCOTT evening showcased an incredible cast of talented women, who performed intense, raw, emotional, empowering and thought-provoking pieces, very inspiring

The fantastic WomenCentre were there to highlight the important work they do to support women around Calderdale. If every woman in Calderdale became a member for just £10 per year it would make an incredible difference to them! I’ve signed up! Will you?
